AKCP Announces Power Metering for Multiple Circuits with Billable Grade Accuracy
eTradeWire News/10765918
AKCP, the world's oldest and largest manufacturer of SNMP enabled environmental, power and security monitoring products for the data center and server rooms have announced their latest product. Power Metering for multiple circuits with billable grade accuracy.
CUPERTINO, Calif. - eTradeWire -- Power metering has become an important part of many businesses. To improve operational efficiency an insight into how power is being used within your facility is essential. In data centers, calculating PUE is impossible without accurate power metering. For a colocation data center facility, the ability to bill clients based on their individual power consumption is needed. Having data for individual circuits gives a granularity that enables analysis of power use at rack level.
Intelligent PDU's are an expensive solution, as are traditional power meters if required at each rack. Introducing the AKCP powerProbeX+ (PPX+) for power monitoring of up to 48 individual circuits. The PPX+ is based on the popular sensorProbeX+ (SPX+) device, so the user interface will be familiar to existing users. 48x current inputs connect to current transformers of an appropriate size for the circuit to be measured. Arranged in eight blocks of 6x inputs, each block can be assigned to one of three voltage pickups. This means if monitoring three phase power, you can bring in three voltages, one from each phase, and assign under software control which block of current inputs are using which voltage pickup.

The PPX+ is available in custom configurations from 6-48 current inputs in multiples of 6. Starting as low as $700 for the 6 channels including 6x 120 Amp CT's, it is a cost effective way to monitor individual circuits in your facility with billable grade accuracy.
About AKCP
AKCP has played a key role in data center design since the early 1980's. AKCP solutions monitor the physical environment of the smallest edge facilities to the largest hyperscalers. As the oldest and largest manufacturer of sensor systems for data centers, we have gained an insight into the daily operations across the industry.
Today AKCP provides the world's most advanced data center cooling solutions. AKCP combines proprietary technologies for energy savings of up to 50-90%. Achievable by blending 5 key technologies that are the result of 40 years of research and development.
