eTradeWire News/10597420
The coronavirus pandemic has left many Americans without a job and has hurt their ability to afford to pay rent. Renters are being evicted from their homes and the state where renters are at the highest risk for eviction was South Carolina

NEW YORK - eTradeWire -- AdvisorSmith, a leading resource for small business content, released its newest study where they analyzed all 50 states in the U.S to find the states where renters have the highest risk of eviction during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The study used data from Phase 3 of the U.S. Census Bureau's Household Pulse Survey, which was conducted between October 28 and November 9, to measure household experiences during the coronavirus pandemic.

AdvisorSmith calculated the percentage of households that have fallen behind on their rent payments. They combined their findings with data on the percentage of homes expected to be evicted in the next two months.

Their research shows that nationwide, 17.1% of households were behind on their rent, and of those renters, 49.1% are expected to be evicted in the next two months. Overall, 8.4% of households nationwide are at risk of eviction.
