AdvisorSmith Finds the Best Cities for Working From Home

eTradeWire News/10578720
No tech hubs in the country made the top 10, despite tech being the most open to working from home.

NEW YORK - eTradeWire -- AdvisorSmith, a leading resource for small business research, released a new study where we discovered the best small, midsize, and large cities for working from home.

With the coronavirus pandemic forcing many companies to close their offices, the number of employees working from home has increased dramatically. Remote work is expected to continue for the foreseeable future, with many companies allowing their employees to continue working from home until 2021 or indefinitely. With the possibility of working from anywhere, some workers are considering moving to different cities to accommodate their new work lifestyle.

AdvisorSmith examined 2,493 U.S. cities and weighed five factors important for working from home: availability of high-speed internet, housing prices, crime levels, parkland, and weather. Our analysis discovered the best small, midsize, and large cities to work from home: Fairview Park, OH, Chesapeake, VA, and Scottsdale, AZ, respectively. All three cities had low crime rates, moderate to warm weather, average housing prices, widespread access to high-speed broadband, and substantial parkland per resident.
