AdvisorSmith Discovers the Fastest Growing Midsize Cities in America

The majority of the top 50 cities on the list were located in Texas.

NEW YORK - eTradeWire -- AdvisorSmith, a leading information resource for small businesses, released its newest study that found the midsize cities in America that are growing and shrinking the fastest.

The study examined the population growth in 226 midsize cities around the country for the past five years and calculated the compound annual growth rate in population growth during that period.

They discovered the fastest-growing midsize city was Frisco, Texas. Frisco's population grew from 144,965 residents to 200,480 between 2014 to 2019. The city had a population growth rate of 6.7 percent per year. Texas had the most cities with 15 of the top 50 cities.

The fastest shrinking city was Jackson, Mississippi. Jackson's population decreased from 172,014 residents to 160,628 between 2014 to 2019. The city had a population growth rate of -1.4 percent per year.
