eTradeWire News/10578360
Large cities were not the best locations for dentists to live and work in.

NEW YORK - eTradeWire -- AdvisorSmith, a leading resource for businesses that produces original studies around the economy, published an analysis and found the top small, midsize, and large cities in the country that offer the best opportunities for dentists.

In the U.S., there are 110,730 general dentists employed. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the dental industry is expected to grow seven percent from 2018 to 2028, which is more than the average for all occupations.

AdvisorSmith analyzed 258 metropolitan areas and measured general dental salaries and the concentration of dental jobs in each city using data from the U.S Census Bureau. They also examined the cost of living in each city using its City Cost of Living Index.

From their research, AdvisorSmith discovered that the best cities for dentists were small or midsize cities, as these areas offer a lower cost of living and average or above-average salaries. The best city for dentists was Burlington, Vermont. The average dental salary in Burlington is $275, 430, and the cost of living is seven percent below the national average. There are also 2.75 times as many dentists in the area compared to the national average.
