DUNEDIN, Fla. - eTradeWire -- Achieva Credit Union is pleased to announce that it has added two new $2,500 student scholarships to its Achieva Scholarship Competition. The new scholarships are named for Trellis Poe and Jack Berthy, two emeritus members of the Acheiva Board of Directors.

The two new scholarships and nine others will be awarded during Achieva's annual scholarship luncheon in June.

Poe was elected to the credit union Board of Directors in 1997 and has served as an Active Director Emeritus since 2018. She retired from the Pinellas County School Board in 2006 after having been employed as office manager for the Area 1 Superintendent for more than 20 years.

Berthy joined Achieva's Board of Directors in 1999 and has served as an Active Director Emeritus since 2019. Berthy retired after a 36-year career at Honeywell Aerospace Corp., where he most recently served as manager of manufacturing. "Captain Jack" also served as Supervisory Committee Chairman of Honeywell's credit union for several years. He has completed 42 of the CUNA Volunteer Achievement Program board education modules.
