Entertainment and Music Driven Festival Open to Features, Documentaries, Shorts and Music Videos

BATON ROUGE, La. - eTradeWire -- The 3rd Annual Listening Room Film Festival 2024 dates are Friday and Saturday, December 6, 7, 13 and 14 from 3:00pm to midnight and Sunday, December 8 and 15 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. The films will be followed by Q and A's. Industry panels with professionals and executives are also a part of the presentations, along with musical performances.

The Listening Room Film Festival's focus is on music and entertainment driven features, documentaries, shorts and music videos, with an emphasis on performers, music and filmmakers from the Southeast area, however other film genres  will be considered.

The festival is both physical and virtual. Flms will be considered and reviewed by selection committee and must have been completed between January of 2021 and up to September of 2024. Films for consideration need to be entered by November 1, 2024. Features can be up to ninety minutes, shorts up to thirty minutes and music videos up to fifteen minutes. Submissions can be emailed to listeningroomfilmfestival@gmail.com.

The Listening Room Film Festival was founded by music entrepreneur Henry Turner Jr. to give new and established filmmakers a place to screen their films in and play their music in a comfortable environment. It focuses on people who were pioneers or influencers in the entertainment industry, as well as the performers, actors, entertainers in the films and musicians who provided music for soundtracks.

Award winning, retrospective features and shorts from the 2023 festival include the local debuts of "Séance Games-Metaxsu," "Santa's Letters," "El Seuno," "The Tia's," A Night of Prayer" and "Good Business Sense." International debuts were "Do-Over," from India, with shorts from Iran, "Exchange" and "The Librarian" and "Mirrorty" from Turkey, among others. Regional films included "Battlegrounds: The Lost Community of Fazendeville."

Music videos were from Listening Room Alumna, Louisiana Musicians, International Acts, as well as Dance Party segments. Panels included Songwriting for Film and Television by Barry Coffing and an A.I. presentation by Ken Bloxson. Other topics included How to Produce Music Videos and Trailers, Women's Issues and Social Changes.

Live musical performances, to name a few, were by Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor, Kevin White, Princess Teha, Ervin "Maestro" Foster, Kelton 'Nspire Harper, and Louisiana Claude.

The Listening Room Film Festival was founded by music entrepreneur Henry Turner Jr. to provide an outlet for filmmakers, video producers and performers to present their work in a family friendly setting.
