$142K Administrator vs $38K Families: Westminster Residents Demand Bronson's Resignation
eTradeWire News/10822043
Bronson enriches himself while families struggle under poverty and soaring utility costs.
WESTMINSTER, S.C. - eTradeWire -- Westminster, South Carolina — In a town of fewer than 3,000 residents, where the median household income has dropped to $38,393 and nearly 24% live in poverty, leadership should ease burdens. Instead, Westminster is strangled by arrogance and neglect.
Families already pay 16.5 cents per kilowatt hour, among the region's highest rates. Rather than fight for relief, city leaders kept Westminster tied to the Piedmont Municipal Power Agency (PMPA) — a costly, outdated contract draining the town.
At the center is City Administrator Kevin Bronson, who pushed to remain with PMPA. He recently boosted his pay from $120,000 to $142,000 per year — nearly four times the average household income. His contract now includes extended severance, ensuring his comfort while residents struggle.

Bronson doesn't even live in Westminster. He resides in Central, SC, far from the hardships he oversees. He doesn't pay Westminster's inflated bills or share its decline — he simply cashes the checks.
His disdain for accountability is clear. When residents emailed concerns, he promised to respond, then ignored follow‑ups. Eventually, he stopped replying altogether, hiding behind Assistant City Administrator Reagan Nathaniel Osbon, who now shields him from public communication. This is not leadership — it is cowardice.
A Call to Action
Westminster deserves better than an absentee administrator who enriches himself while ignoring citizens. Residents must demand:

Westminster is a struggling town with declining incomes, high poverty, and no industry to offset burdens. Yet its leadership acts as if arrogance is affordable. Bronson's $142K salary, his residence outside town, his silence, and his role in costly energy contracts symbolize a government out of touch.
The Demand
Enough is enough. Kevin Bronson must resign. His leadership is a liability to Westminster's survival. The people deserve an administrator who lives among them, listens to them, and fights for them — not one who hides, enriches himself, and governs from afar.
